Maintenance and Care
Proper care ensures the longevity of your Dutch Oven:- Take care not to overheat the product, as excessive heat can reduce the non-stick effect (overheating is not covered by the warranty).
- Avoid using aerosol spray, as it burns at lower temperatures.
- Before frying, heat the product to medium heat for a few minutes, whether using oil or not.
- The best time to clean the product is when it's still warm. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes before washing it in hot water with dishwashing liquid. Use a soft nylon scourer to vigorously scrub the Dutch Oven with hot soapy water, ensuring all food fat and residue are removed. Never resort to harsh or abrasive cloths or cleaning liquids/pastes. Always make sure the product is clean before drying and storing it.
- While the Dutch Oven is dishwasher safe for convenience, SCANPAN recommends handwashing to extend the life of the product.
